How do I place an order?
Do I need to pay a deposit?
A deposit will secure your order in my diary; this can easily and safely be paid online. For smaller orders this is £10. Larger orders, afternoon tea bookings and wedding cakes is usually between £20-£50.
I have sent an enquiry in, how soon should I expect a reply?
As a small business it can be difficult to reply immediately, particularly towards the end of the week and during the weekend as this is when the majority of preparation and deliveries occur. Please be patient and allow 2-3 days to receive a reply as our main office days are Monday to Wednesday. If your query is urgent then please contact via phone rather than email on 07725882271.
How much does a cake cost?
This is very dependent on your requirements as cost is determined on size and decoration so varies between orders. Serving sizes are approximate as it does very much depend on how large a slice you would like(!) however starting prices are as follows;
~ Cupcakes £2 each for simple buttercream iced
~ Brownies £18 for a tray of 18 slices
Buttercream iced cakes
These start from £25 for a 4 inch cake (serving approximately 4-5), £35 for a 6 inch cake (serving approximately 12-15) and £45 for an 8 inch cake (serving approximately 20-25) Decorations such as cake toppers, flowers and more complex designs add an additional cost.
Naked number cakes
~ £45 for a single figure number cake (serving approximately 20-25)
~ £50 for a smaller sized double figure number (serves approximately 20-25)
~ £70 for a larger sized double figure number (serves approximately 40-45)
Fondant iced cakes
These start from £55 for a 6 inch cake (serving approximately 12-15) and £65 for an 8 inch cake (serving approximately 20-25)
How should I transport and store my cake?
The following advice should be followed when transporting a cake to your celebration;
Always travel with the cake on a flat surface, e.g. the boot or footwell. Seats are not a good idea as they are slanted.
When picking up and carrying the cake it is important to hold it underneath/at the base of the box and not the sides.
When driving with a cake I would recommend taking corners very carefully/slowly so not to tip the cake.
Ideally a buttercream iced cake should be stored in the fridge until displayed whereas a fondant iced cake should be stored somewhere cool (not in the fridge though as this is too cold!)
What happens during a wedding cake consultation?
A wedding cake consultation lasts for approximately an hour and is based in Hardingstone. There will be 5-6 different flavours of cake to try whilst we discuss all elements of the cake design including size, number of tiers, colours, decoration and more. I love to hear all about the wedding plans as well and get to know more about you both to ensure the design reflects your style.
